What are the Seven Rays?

The Seven Rays in theosophy and various occult traditions represent seven divine attributes of the Great Central Sun, the Source. The seven colors are pink, yellow, blue, white, green, orange/gold and purple. Each color represents as well as embodies specific characteristics.

Orange/Gold – Peace, opulence and creativity

Green – healing, truth and science

White – the Resurrection Flame, purity, resurrection, perfection

Pink – Divine Love

Yellow – Divine Wisdom, ideas

Blue – The Will to Do, power and protection

Purple – The Violet Flame, third eye, forgiveness, transmutation, freedom

You may find that you are attracted more to one color above all others. This could mean that is your ray, as in the ray that you came in on for this lifetime. We all work our way through all seven rays over many many lifetimes. That is life’s way of giving us all opportunities to fully explore ourselves as creators in all realms and areas of experience. Balance in all ways is always idea, but it’s perfectly normal to feel pulled to one or two colors/powers over the others. That’s good, follow it. Because it could be your higher self trying to direct down a path that will lead to you fulfilling your destiny. How does this translate into real life? Here’s an example:

Let’s say you’re a medical professional. You went through all the schooling and now you find yourself in a respectable career but you’re miserable. The medical field is a green ray activity. But perhaps you’re on the white ray and you’re a natural born artist. (it’s not a 100% that you’re doing a job that correlates with your ray, many jobs cross over and many different rays can be used. An artist could be on any of the seven rays, but the white ray, being a ray of physical perfection seems to attract a lot of creatives) So maybe you can start to figure out how you can align your career with the ray you feel most closely linked to. A lot of philosophers and writers might be on the yellow ray, while a lot of scientists may be on the green ray. A lot of nurturing types may be on the pink ray. While a lot of law enforcement and military people will usually be blue. A lot of mystics and metaphysical types tend to be on the purple ray, or working with multiple rays at once. There’s an endless combination and they can all work, but if you’re able to actually align your natural born ray with your career, it would probably bring you a lot more satisfaction.

I think a lot of dissatisfaction in today’s society comes from people working in the wrong ray. It’s another way to look at following your heart but a little more specific. There’s really no way to be 100% sure what ray you are, but you can start to guess and experiment by trying out activities that correlate to that ray. That way you can start to find things that make you happy. If something makes you happy to do, and it doesn’t hurt anyone else, take that as a huge clue towards finding your path in life. It could lead you to your dream job or even your dream partner.

I wonder if what ray you’re born on can have any correlation to your zodiac sign? That might be something worth investigating a bit in the future.

Other correspondences that you might be interested in are looking into which Ascended Master is on your favorite ray. It’s a great way to start working with a deity, safely.

You can also look into which Archangel and Archeia correspond to the ray you wish to work with.

There are also seven Elohim, referred to as the Seven Builders by some and the Seven Mighty Elohim in theosophical works. They also have feminine counterparts, so if you wish to work with both feminine and masculine aspects of each ray, you can easily do so.

There also happens to be seven days in a week. So of course, there’s a ray represented with each day. These correspondences differ among different sources. But it’s an easy google search in your preferred school of thought. But this makes it easy to wear a specific color on it’s corresponding day to help remind your consciousness of the energies that are being amplified that day on the planet. To help you better tune into them and work with them on a higher level. You can also use crystals for this. Which I will discuss in more detail in another post. But that is also a fun thing to research online, especially on Pinterest if you’re into that.

Basically, each color has it’s own unique frequency. These frequencies correspond to attributes, energies, abilities, possibilities. The more you are aware of these different energies the more you can use them to enhance your life in endless ways. From the colors you wear to the career you pursue. It can even help when you’re looking for love. Color is telling you what energy you’re working with. Don’t underestimate it’s power. Instead start working with it.
